Radio channel characterization
Path loss and multipath in UHF in indoor and agricultural environments; permittivity of leaves and soil.
Postdoctoral Researcher · Telecommunications Lecturer
I characterize the radio channel and design the instrumentation to measure it: propagation models in UHF and millimeter-wave bands, beamforming and custom electronic devices, from the schematic and PCB to the 3D-printed part. I now research electrochemical sensors at UCAM-SENS and teach Telecommunications at UCAM.
About me
I hold a Ph.D. in Information and Communication Technologies from the Technical University of Cartagena. My thesis, «Characterization of the radio channel in the UHF band in indoor environments and citrus plantations», combines measurement campaigns, theoretical permittivity models for leaves and soil, and a multipath model validated at 1800 and 2100 MHz.
Throughout my studies I have brought my professional experience into my academic work, designing my own devices: a parameter and ECG logger for skydivers in free fall, an automated PADP measurement system for millimeter waves, and beamforming platforms based on virtual arrays.
Before and during my research I have worked as a freelancer in electronic design, CAD (SolidWorks), photovoltaic installations, home automation (KNX, Node-RED, Grafana, InfluxDB), CCTV and IT support, and more recently in metrology and ENAC accreditation (ISO 17025). Since 2026 I have been a postdoctoral researcher at UCAM-SENS, where I research and design electrochemical sensors, and a Telecommunications lecturer at UCAM: I research and develop devices at the university and train new students.
